At a packed Republican caucus held June 8, 2010 at the Town Hall, guest speakers included Colonel Chris Gibson, candidate for United States Congress 20th Congressional District, Judge Peter Foreman, candidate for Dutchess County Court Judge, and Michael Kelsey, the Towns Dutchess County Legislator. Later in the evening, the Republican Party voted unanimously to endorse Frank Weber Jr. and Chris Flynn for Stanford Town Justice and Town Council, respectively. Both Frank and Chris are currently serving in these respective positions.

Chris Flynn for Stanford Town Council

Experience: Chris Flynn is currently on the Town Council for the Town of Stanford. Chris was voted onto the town board unanimously by both Republicans and Democrats to fill the vacant town council seat in February 2010. Chris is the Town Board’s liaison to the Agriculture Committee, the liaison to the Zoning Board of Appeals. He was previously a member of the Zoning Board for the last 7 years. Chris also spends his time volunteering for programs that benefit our children.

Said Mark D’Agostino Republican Town Councilman “Chris is fiscally conservative, he has been a small business owner, knows budgets and knows the meaning of an organization spending within its means, his knowledge of budgets will help the town in this difficult economic climate.” Said Thomas Dewhirst Republican Town Councilman “Chris has always been active in his community, as a volunteer for many of our children’s events and has been very involved in planning for the future of our town.” Said Virginia Stern Democratic Town Supervisor “Chris Flynn is someone we all know, he has been on the Zoning Board for 7 years, I have watched Chris make thoughtful, wise and fair decisions always having done his homework and am very impressed with him. He is an active volunteer for the community and I am grateful that Chris came forward and would offer his name”. Said Democratic Town Councilwoman Johanna Schafer “I would be delighted to vote for Chris Flynn to fill the open town board position. I have great respect for Chris and his thoughtfulness and ability to find common ground”. Poughkeepsie Journal interview “he (Chris Flynn) has been a member of the zoning board and should be encouraged to stay involved……seeking a seat on the town board…..Flynn showed why the town…..  has faith in him as a candidate”.

Not only was Chris unanimously
voted onto the town board by both Republicans and Democrats he has also been

endorsed by the Conservative and Independence party's!!

Personal: Chris was born in Amenia and grew up in Millbrook. He has a degree in Criminal Justice and currently works as a construction manager. Chris has lived in Stanfordville for over 18 years with his wife and four children. Chris believes it is important to get involved in the community as early and as often as possible to help make it a better place for children growing up and a better place for our seniors to live. Along with his Town Board liaison position’s, being on the Zoning board for over 7 years, working full time and raising a family, Chris has still found time to volunteer for many different organizations in town in support of the town’s children, such as little league, soccer, basketball, and the haunted house.

There can be no doubt that Chris’s ability to garner such broad support from all political parties makes him an excellent candidate to continue on the Stanford Town Board. Chris’s experience as a small business owner who has worked with budgets and fiscal planning and his leadership role as a manager and supervisor will help guide the town in these difficult economic times. His support of our town as a volunteer in many capacities throughout his life, as current member of the Town Board and liaison to several town committees shows his genuine concern for the future of our town.
